Returning to the Hamner Theater Cabaret Series for their third performance on Saturday, June 14 at 7:30pm are Nelson County favorites, TigerLily. Original members Carol McAvoy, Donna Hamilton, Gail Epps are joined by bassist Trey Mitchell. The voices of McAvoy, Hamilton, and Epps blend together in exquisite three-part harmony, now grounded by Mitchell's bass line. Their voices are also supported by acoustic guitar (Gail Epps), and light percussion (Donna Hamilton and Carol McAvoy).
In their more than seven years together, TigerLily have performed regularly at the Gravity Lounge and at the the Rural Health Outreach Program's annual benefit, and have appeared with other local musicians, including Terri Allard. Later this month, they will be sharing the stage with the nationally touring act, Seldom Scene, at the Nelson County Summer Festival.
TigerLily played to sold-out crowds in each of their previous appearances in the Hamner's Cabaret evenings. Expect to hear a wide variety of old favorites from artists like Nanci Griffith, Van Morrison and Emmylou Harris, along with original TigerLily songs like Rockfish River, which recounts lazy days by the river in the countryside. A soulful equation of 1-part bass and 3-part harmony, TigerLily is an organic musical experience. From your living room to music halls, TigerLily's toe-tapping, soul-inspired tunes get in your head and dance around your heart.
